A really simple way to make couscous

Simplest of all simple grains, instant couscous is ready in a flash, and doesn’t even really need the stove. Of course, cooking it with stock over low heat will produce a different dish, but as a quick and easy side, especially one to be mixed in with sautéed meats or vegetables, this is the easiest way.

To start, measure out your couscous.

Pour it into a heatproof bowl.

Add hot water – the general proportion is 2 parts couscous to 3 parts water. So for 1 cup of couscous you'll need 1 1/2 cups water.

Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let sit for 10 minutes.

Fluff with a fork before serving.
