Michelada

makes 1 drink
Recipe from Rob Chirico

Some say this cocktail is named after the Mexican Revolution’s General Augusto Michel, who supposedly drank his beer with hot sauce and lemon juice.

This recipe comes from Rob Chirico's Hair of the Dog. For more of Rob's great cocktails, buy his Field Guide to Cocktails.

ingredients

Juice of 1 lime
1 to 100 drops of hot sauce, to taste
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1 dash Maggi seasoning or soy sauce
1 pinch salt
1 pinch freshly ground pepper
1 (12-ounce) bottle Mexican beer
Ice

tall glass

instructions

Mix all of the ingredients -- except beer -- in a tall, ice-filled glass. Slowly add the beer, as the salt will cause it to foam up.
