Sweet And Sour Turnip And Carrot Salad
serves 2-4
A peeler and a box grater turn raw turnips and carrots into a fresh, crispy, light salad. Almost any vinaigrette or dressing would work here, but this really flavorful Asian dressing brings a variety of tastes to the raw vegetables.
2 medium carrots, peeled and grated
1 turnip, peeled and grated
3 tablespoons lime juice
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/8 cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon fish sauce
1/4 cup cilantro leaves
1 teaspoon black sesame seeds
prep: 10 minutes
total: 15 minutes
box grater
1 large bowl
1 medium bowl

Peel and coarsely grate the carrots and turnips and toss together in a large bowl. In a medium bowl, whisk together the lime juice, oils, sugar, cayenne pepper and fish sauce until the sugar dissolves. Drizzle the dressing over the grated vegetables, tossing to coat. Sprinkle with the cilantro and sesame seeds.
