Tortellini With Ham, Peas, Cream And Parmesan

1 pound tortellini
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup diced ham
1 cup frozen peas
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

1. Bring a large pot of water and 2 teaspoons salt to a boil. When the water boils, add the tortellini and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the tortellini float and are hot in the center.
2. Meanwhile, combine the butter, cream, ham and peas in a saucepan. Gently simmer until the cream thickens and the peas and ham are hot. When the tortellini are done, drain and add them to the sauce. Stir in the pepper and simmer 2 minutes more. Take the pan off the heat and stir in the parmesan and parsley.
