Cajun Rub

serves 2-4

Rooted in cajun tradition, this basic rub doesn't skimp on cayenne pepper -- and is rounded out with ample amounts of onion and garlic powders. Rub it on ribs, pork chops, steaks or just about any cut of meat you plan to grill or roast. Try varying the amount of each spice to suit your taste.



ingredients

1/4 cup kosher salt
2 tablespoons fresh ground black pepper
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
3 tablespoons sweet paprika
2 tablespoons ground thyme
2 tablespoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons ground sage
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

instructions

In a small bowl, stir together all the ingredients to combine them. Rub liberally onto meat as a dry marinade, a few hours or immediately before cooking.
