Red Onion Raita

An Indian-style condiment that goes well with lamb, this simple onion raita is made with yogurt and chili powder is sharpened with lemon juice.
This recipe is part of Andrew Schloss's Sunday Dinners.
1/2 large red onion, sliced paper-thin
Juice of 1/2 large lemon
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
prep: 5 minutes
total: 5 minutes
Mix the onion with the lemon juice, sugar, chili powder, a sprinkling of salt and yogurt. Refrigerate until serving.
