Irish Coffee
makes 1 drink
To make the best Irish Coffee, use quality freshly ground and brewed beans, and always whip your heavy cream without sugar right before serving.
This recipe comes from Rob Chirico's Hair of the Dog. For more of Rob's great cocktails, buy his Field Guide to Cocktails.
4 ounces freshly brewed coffee
1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 dollop freshly whipped cream (unsweetened)
prep: 5 minutes
total: 5 minutes
Combine coffee, whiskey and sugar in a hot Irish-coffee glass, and float whipped cream on top. (To warm the glass, fill with boiling water while you prepare the coffee and whipped cream, pouring out the water just before assembling the drink.)
