Gin Sling

The original slings appeared at the end of the 17th century and were meant to serve as a shot-in-the-arm before breakfast. Eventually, gin became the default alcohol for slings.

2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce Cointreau
1/2 ounce lime juice
1/4 ounce lemon juice
1 dash bitters
Splash soda water
Ice
Garnish:
Orange twist
Maraschino cherry
prep: 5 minutes
total: 5 minutes
cocktail shaker

highball glass
toothpick
Add all liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a highball glass. Garnish with an orange twist and a maraschino cherry skewered on a toothpick.
