Apple Waffles

These unsweetened apple waffles taste great with butter and syrup. If you leave the skin on the apples, the waffles will have a slight greenish hue where the skin is peeking out. If this bothers you, peel the apples before grating.

2/3 cup grated Granny Smith apples
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup flour
prep: 10 minutes
total: 10 minutes, plus time for cooking

In a large bowl, beat together egg, apple, milk, vanilla, butter, nutmeg and cinnamon until throughly combined. Add in baking powder and flour, stir to combine. Prepare according to your waffle iron's instructions.
