Pastis Negroni

A takeoff on the classic Italian apéritif, Negroni -- roughly equal parts gin, campari and vermouth -- this licorice-y version made with pastis is less bitter and even more refreshing. It's a perfect pre-dinner drink in the summer.
1 1/2 ounces gin
1 ounce pastis
1 ounce sweet vermouth
prep: 1 minute
total: 1 minute

martini glass
1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Pour in the gin, pastis and vermouth. Shake the mixture for 10 seconds. (Or, if you'd rather, stir well.)
2. Strain the liquid into a martini glass and garnish with an orange slice or olive.
