Sunday Houses the Sunday House

February 16th, 2007

Elizabeth’s first book of poems, Sunday Houses the Sunday House (winner of the 2006 Iowa Poetry Prize), is now available at Powell’s, Amazon and everywhere good books are sold. Technically, it’s not out until April 1, but the books have shipped and should be in warehouses as we speak. A list of upcoming readings and events will be posted on her website soon.

Ryan Kapp was generous enough to lend his painting “Migration” for the cover and the University of Iowa Press did a beautiful job putting everything together. Even if you’re not a big poetry reader, it’ll look nice on your coffee table.

One of my favorite poems from the book is called “Egg, Egg.”

This morning, I went to pick up the mail and there with all the bills and fliers was a box from them. I assumed it was something related to babies or poetry and left it for Elizabeth to open. […]
