Gift: La Tartine Gourmande cards and calendar

by admin on December 12, 2007 · 4 comments

One of my favorite ways to procrastinate is to go to TasteSpotting and see if I can correctly guess which food blog each photo has come from. Even as this has gotten much harder as more and more people have discovered TS and submitted images, I still always instantly recognize the stunning photos Béa takes for La Tartine Gourmande. I would try to describe them, but I don’t know how (except to use the descriptionless “stunning”). Just look at them and come up with your own adjectives.

I just noticed that Béa has a few things for sale at her Zazzle store — a few greeting cards and a 2008 calendar. One of the cards has my favorite Béa photograph on it: four headless sardines tails-up in a glass. It’s at once welcoming and menacing, and would be a perfect thing to send to someone you’re wooing or to someone who owes you money.

I like that Tastespotting game too!

Béa’s pictures are fantastic (though I’m not completely convinced about the wooing ability of the sardines!)

Someone should do a mashup called Spot the TasteSpotter (or something cleverer than that) with 5 multiple choice answers. As for sardines, I guess it depends on who’s being wooed.

“…would be a perfect thing to send to someone you’re wooing or to someone who owes you money.”

If the card is signed “Love, Uncle Vito”, pay up. Some people are just better at wooing than others. ;)
