Niloufer Ichaporia King

Niloufer Ichaporia King is the author of My Bombay Kitchen, the first book on Parsi food written by a Parsi published in the United States. The Parsis were descendents of Zoroastrians who fled Persia after the Sassanian empire fell to the Arabs.
In addition to being a cookbook author, King is also an anthropologist and details in her writing the history, rituals and beliefs of the Parsi community as seen in the food cooked and eaten by one Bombay family. Her recipes and menus reflect the way we like to eat today, and her anecdotes and commentary combine beautifully in My Bombay Kitchen: Traditional and Modern Parsi Home CookingMy Bombay Kitchen, unveiling the treasures of Parsi home cooking and showing how it continues to stir new influences into its Persian and Indian base.
Niloufer King now resides in San Fransisco.
